Kris Thorkelson's Bio:

An accomplished entrepreneur who makes his home in the city of Winnipeg, Kris Thorkelson has more than twenty years of experience as a business leader, having founded and led a number of pharmacy businesses to success. Kris Thorkelson began his career after graduating from the University of Manitoba, with his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. He started at HW Pharmacy in Winnipeg and just three months later, he and a partner purchased the business. After 18 months, he became the sole proprietor at HW Pharmacy and eventually sold the business to Safeway Canada in 1995. Kris is the owner and founder of the Prescription Shop, which has two outlets in Winnipeg. The retail shops employ a staff of six pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who run the day-to-day operations of the stores. Kris also owns two medical clinics that are attached to his pharmacies. From 2004 to 2006 and 2008 to 2010, Kris served as a councillor for the Manitoba Pharmaceutical Association (now known as the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba). Kris’s entrepreneurial spirit led to the acquisition of Thorwin Properties, a real estate company dedicated to helping renters find apartments in the Winnipeg area. Thorwin Properties' website features a list of apartment vacancies in Winnipeg as well as a number of currently available rental suites. The company also provides resources for tenants, such as tenant forms, testimonials and information on current open houses.
